Pool Supplies: There is nothing like some fun pool furniture to add to the enjoyment of those summer days out on the water of your swimming pool. There are hundreds of available pool supplies, both to maintain and add a bit of fun to your pool experience. The fun side of the spectrum ranges from children’s toys to leisure chairs, and what follows is a list of some of the best pool supplies you can get to make that summer afternoon a little more comfortable or fun.
You might not think of them as pool supplies, but the diving board and slides do not always come with the pool. These additions will mostly be for kids, and you can get them as high or long as you wish. Make sure that the depth of your pool allows for a safe plunge from the height of your diving board, and that your slide is positioned in such a way that its length will not interfere with safety. Remember that slides should be kept wet for use, while boards are best dry. Floating Chairs: Adults and kids will both love to have a few inflatable chairs around to float about the water. These chairs offer an ideal spot to soak up the sun’s rays while on the surface of the water, ready for a quick dip should you become too hot. You can catch up on some reading as you float around, and a lot of these inflatable chairs also come with handing drink holders so that you can sip some lemonade or iced tea while you float. There are several designs, from recliners to uprights, models that keep your feet out of the water and ones where you sit and your legs dangle. Kids love floating around on huge inflatable toys that can accommodate three or four. These are best for smaller kids, around 5-10. Make sure that the y are properly supervised, this type of toy can lead to horseplay. I have to confess, I have never really seen the point of the pool noodle, but it seems as though everyone has a few. They are ostensibly floatation devices, but are fairly poor. The only fun I have ever had with one is hitting my friends with them as juveniles, and even that really didn’t pack a sufficient wallop. Finally, there is the old stalwart of pool supplies, the air mattress. Air mattresses are great for relaxation, although as far as pool supplies go I prefer the more accessible floating chair. For those who like to recline and doze on the water, though, the air mattress remains a favorite fun pool supply.
