Swimming Pool Heaters

Swimming Pool Heaters Overview

There is quite a bit of complexity about swimming pool heaters and pool heating today. With global warming the main topic spoken about today, most people are attempting to conserve as much as possible. This makes solar energy swimming pool heaters the most popular way to go anymore. There are many options open but it offers more “dollar for dollar” than any other swimming pool heaters available, and solar pool heating is the largest use of solar energy in the world at 90%. Most pool owners want an energy efficient pool because it reduces energy costs and will increase comfort. Over 300,000 pool owners use solar systems as their swimming pool heaters, with this number increasing continuously.

The swimming pool heaters are normally connected to the pool support system after the filter is connected. This water that is heated is returned through the return lines to the pool top. The water at the bottom of the pool, which is cool, is pumped through the filter then heated and returned to the top of the pool. But the normal theory is that heat rises to the top automatically on its own with any properties. According to pool heater technicians, traditional plumping places the heated water to the top where 60-70% of the heat loss begins to leave the water. In order for a uniform temperature to be applied throughout the pool, heat will need to be applied to the pool bottom. The traditional swimming pool heaters have a completely different theory on the pool heating process as does the solar.

Some miscellaneous points about swimming pool heaters needs to be looked at that will save money and time. Traditional swimming pool heaters sometimes have been combined with a solar cover to save on energy and the pool will heat up quicker whenever the sun shines. Look at the type of gas used to run the heaters, whether it be natural gas or propane. It is important that this is determined before swimming pool heaters are purchased for the pool.  The swimming pool heaters have an option in regard to ignition: electronic or millivolt ignition. No electrical work is needed with millivolt ignition, as it uses a constant pilot light. High winds do blow out the pilot light, and will need to be relit manually. The newer method, electronic ignition, needs an electrical hook up. It is more efficient than the other way, and the ignition gets turned on when it is needed.  There are many ways to save on the swimming pool heaters, and thought many of them will not work with what type of swimming pool heaters all pool owners have, it is best to check out if they will.

Some of the swimming pool heaters offer single or dual thermostat, allowing the body of water to heat in two different areas. One thermostat can heat the swimming pool while the other heats the spa.
